IHUG, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting friendship and understanding across the globe, recently lit up the Palos Verdes Peninsula with their newest project, Friendship Lamps. The lamps, which are battery-operated and connected over the internet, are designed to bring people together no matter the distance.
The Friendship Lamps project was created to help bridge the physical distance between individuals, allowing them to share moments together no matter where they are. When a person taps the lamp, the lamp of the other person lights up and changes color, letting the other person know that they are thinking of them. The lamps are also connected to a mobile app, which allows users to easily see who is tapping their lamp and when.
The IHUG Friendship Lamps project was launched in Palos Verdes Peninsula, with the goal of connecting local community members and encouraging them to make new friends. The lamps were installed in various public places around the area, such as parks, cafes and schools.
The project has been met with enthusiasm from the local community, with many people excited to use the lamps to share moments with their friends and family. The lamps have also been used to provide a sense of comfort to people who have recently moved to the area, allowing them to feel connected to their old friends and family.
The IHUG Friendship Lamps project is a great example of how technology can be used to bring people together and foster understanding across the globe. With the project’s success in Palos Verdes Peninsula, IHUG is looking to expand the project to other cities and countries in the future.
